SoCal – Pre NYE Damaged w/Karttie
Stayed away from the main celebration and started a day early
While everyone was getting ready for New Years Eve parties, I decided to start my ‘damage’ a day early at Exchange LA to some Jordan Suckley, Eddie Bitar, Menno De Jong and Casey Rasch since my NYE was going to be spent driving to Mammoth Ski Resort with my boy friend.
No rainy cold night was going to stop us see four great sets. After catching Casey Rasch at this past Winterfresh, there was no doubt it was going to be a good night. Casey played some tech-trance and warmed the crowd up with one of his remix of ‘Monkey Forest’ by Midway.
The last time I saw Eddie Bitar was at Electric Fairy Tale in Fresno, CA and his set at Exchange LA took me back. High energy, feet stomping and setting up nicely for Jordan Suckley as everyone was ready and pumped up. When Jordan Suckley was up, he kept dropping his latest hit tracks one after another. Being my fourth time seeing him, his sets always blows me away. At one point, the club
was so ‘lit’, some random guy thought it would be a good idea to jump on the rail and crowd surf. Unfortunately, he fell straight to the floor and people kept dancing around him.
The final set of the night was Menno De Jong who I’ve seen at Spin night club in San Diego and Dreamstate SoCal 2016. His sets feel like a real musical journey. Taking you where ever you please to be. For moments, I kept thinking I was at Dreamstate again as everyone around me was shuffling and dancing like at a festival
It was a best way to start my New Year.
