SnowGlobe Music Festival 2018 preview

Ringing the New Year in the Sierras

Over two decades of raving, my New Year’s Eve soirée has been a mixture of massive events from Coolworld’s Planet NYE, Together As One, ETD Pop NYE, Giant NYE block party down to a few San Francisco night club events dancing to some Paul Van Dyk or Ferry Corsten, in which I always take pride in looking good when ringing into the New Year. However, this year I couldn’t resist this stellar line up that Northern California/Nevada has seen for quite sometime which would require sacrificing that ‘fly’ attire to stay creatively warm as I’m looking forward to counting down in the very freezing but majestic serenity of South Lake Tahoe for SnowGlobe Music Festival 2018.

South Lake Tahoe year around offers an excursion (away from the hustle and bustle of city life) that provides numerous outdoor activities from skiing, hiking, biking, parasailing or just simply sipping a ‘cold one’ off the lake’s beach. But for music lovers, Tahoe may not come off as an EDM paradise but since its inception back in 2012 (and acquirement by MTV), SnowGlobe has thrived to become another outdoor destination for EDM lover (with especially this year’s line up).

SnowGlobe 2018 looks to present an eclectic line up of generations apart from the likes of Rezz to the pinnacle rankings of KaskadeEric Prydz and Above & Beyond. Having seen countless Youtube clips from the comfort of my home, my anticipation is running rampant as I’ll need to prepare well to stay warm (10-20 degree F) in covering this event and as well enjoying my time even at my age of 41 years young. But for me, it’s going to be an opportunity to experience an event contrasting the scorching heat of EDC; dancing and taking in the love of electronic dance music under the chilly snowflake sky at an elevation of over 6000 ft.

With such a multitude of talents, SnowGlobe 2018 will be spread out across 3 days as Above & Beyond will be counting us into 2019, but day-1 will bring the heat like no others as Eric Prydz will set the tone for a raging weekend. But as a house head, I’m looking forward to names like Gorgon City, Chris Lake, AC Slater and even something off my normal choice of music with Party Favor, Rezz and Diplo.

So if you don’t want to be sitting at home channel surfing for countdowns, get your ticket fast and hold your spot because SnowGlobe 2018‘s line up will guarantee the FOMO.
