Celebrating their 10^th anniversary milestone,

Northern Nights Music Festival 2023 occurred mid-July during the peak of summer. Located amongst the Northern California redwoods in Piercy, California,  it has continued to be remained as of the best festivals in the greeneries of Northern California. With its remote location, four hours north of San Francisco, it offers not only the beautiful landscape of trees but a river to enjoy the whole weekend. This is one of the few destination festivals in California to offers a full festival experience with camping and music all night until the early morning hours.

This year was my second year going, and  what I enjoyed the most about Northern Nights was its small festival vibes but its ability to curate a strong collection of artists and musicians. This year was no different with a variety of artists, live paintings, workshops, and headlining performers such as G Jones, Tokimonsta and Big Gigantic. Another unique feature of Northern Nights is the sanctioned silent disco that is held at the main stage into the early morning hours.

One of the best late-night sets of the weekend was festival veterans Chocolate Sushi b2b Wet Velvet. Other notable favorites of mine from the weekend included Mary Droppins with her River Stage set and Dr. Fresch closing out Sunday with an amazing Sunset. On top of their scheduled sets, both Mary Droppins and Dr. Fresch had some of the best after hours sets at the Octopus Garden stage but only to be enjoyed by those willing to make the long trek from the main festival grounds; and for those still wondering, the trek was worth every step.

If you are a new festival goer or searching for a fun new festival to add to your collection, Northern Nights is a must attend at least one time.
